Participatory Budgeting Opportunity
Columbus City Council recently launched the Our Voice, Our Choice Participatory Budgeting program, which sets aside $9 million from the city's capital budget. Through this initiative, District 1 has its own dedicated $1 million fund, and local residents have authentic decision-making power to choose exactly how it is spent.
To ensure our neighbors have the tools they need to participate, we are hosting two in-person informational sessions in the area. During these brief events, we will explain how the participatory budget works and walk residents step-by-step through how to submit their physical infrastructure ideas (such as park upgrades, street lighting, or sidewalks) before the submission deadline of August 28th.
